Inside the Life of a Stoic Marketer
I must confess, there’s a duality in me. I’ve spent many years of my life promoting diverse businesses and international causes. Creating campaigns is part of my daily routine. Managing projects and liaising with different stakeholders and business owners is my day job. Yet, deep inside, there’s a philosopher in me. I am always pondering life and the meaning of it all.
I am deeply interested in the way the Stoics approach life and try to incorporate their values into my daily existence. In modern society, calling yourself “stoic” can sometimes be misunderstood, as I am human—I make mistakes and, from time to time, might do the opposite of what I aspire to. On the other hand, I am drawn to well-being practices that embrace a holistic, spiritual way of seeing the world. I love journaling, meditation, and all those practices that encourage self-reflection. I don’t always share this side of me unless it naturally comes up, but it’s a defining part of my essence.
As a yoga practitioner and former instructor, I’ve realised that life exists in many grey areas. What you do professionally shouldn’t define your true self. We are so much more than the roles we play, and I return to this idea over and over again. However, taking care of your physical body, as well as your mind, is essential. Learning how to manage stress and maintain good health is vital for a fulfilling and, hopefully, long life.
As I approach my 40s in a few years, I’ve started thinking more about my future—the kind of life I want to live as an older adult, the type of grandmother I want to be, and the legacy I want to leave behind. I envision a future of wellness and freedom, but to achieve that, I need to start preparing now. It might seem early, but it’s not. I love chatting with older adults and see how much wisdom they carry. I want to support the older generation as much as I can. Although I promote businesses as a way of generating income, I also want to dedicate part of my energy to projects that create a better world. The next chapter of my life involves teaching chair yoga to older adults and people with restricted mobility.
If you are part of a community that supports sustainability, well-being, diversity, or similar causes, I’d love to hear from you and learn how I can be of service
